故事发生在1835年的巴黎，艾尔曼嘉德（罗珊娜·马奎达 Roxane Mesquida 饰）即将嫁给年轻又英俊的青年贵族里诺（Fu'ad Aït Aattou 饰），两人郎才女貌，感情如胶似漆。然而，艾尔曼嘉德并不知道的是，里诺实际上是个到处沾花惹草的花花公子，他和一位名叫薇丽妮（艾莎·阿基多 Asia Argento 饰）的欢场交际花保持了一段长达十年的不伦之恋。
